APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR REPRODUCING SKIN COLOR IN IMAGE SIGNAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for reproducing skin color in an image signal and a method for reproducing skin color in the image signal that standardize a color difference signal value in a non-typical skin color region to that in a typical skin color region and can improve the quality of skin color reproduction in the image signal. SOLUTION: The apparatus for reproducing the skin color in the image signal comprises an input pixel value position identification section 30 for identifying whether an input pixel value exists in the non-typical region of a skin color region on chromaticity coordinates; and a standardization pixel value acquisition section 31 for adjusting the input pixel value so that the input pixel value approaches the typical color region of the skin color region when it is judged that the input pixel value exists in the non-typical color region and for acquiring the standardized pixel value of an input pixel.
