PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a capacitor device useful as a power source for a DC or AC load. SOLUTION: The capacitor device includes a large capacitance capacitor 12 having a plurality of capacitor elements 12a, a converting means 35 for DC/DC or DC/AC converting the output voltage of the large capacitance capacitor 12 to output a DC voltage or an AC voltage, and a case 1 for housing the large capacitance capacitor 12. The converting means 35 is disposed nearly between the large capacitance capacitor 12 and the inner surface of the case 1 to house the converting means 35 in the case 1.
