TPTP MEASURING METHOD, RECORDING CURRENT CONTROL METHOD, COMPUTER-READABLE RECORDING MEDIUM, AND HARD DISK DRIVE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for measuring TPTP of the magnetic head and a recording current control method using the same. SOLUTION: The method for measuring TPTP of the magnetic head installed on a HDD comprises a step for measuring relative errors of recorded data by performing recording and reproducing operation with the magnetic head while varying an overshoot current level, a step for detecting a minimum relative error based on the measured relative error, a step for measuring a relative error at a maximum overshoot current, and a step for judging a TPTP level by the difference between the minimum relative error and the relative error at the maximum overshoot current. Thus, TPTP of each magnetic head can be measured quantitatively, for example, at the burn-in test process. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
