PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent spring back of the standing wall of a shell or a shutter and to reduce the distortion of a surface in the periphery of the standing wall in a disk cartridge and a method for manufacturing the cartridge. SOLUTION: A bending punch 25 comprises a projected line 28 extending in a direction orthogonal to a paper surface and a plane surface 30 extending from the projected line 28 through a step part 29. A reception table 32 comprises a flat surface 34 facing upward. When folding a lower shell 24 by using this punch 25 and the reception table 32, the standing wall 24k is folded with a bending jig 35 with pressurizing of the upper surface 42 of the lower shell 24 with the punch 25. With this pressurization, a folding part 36 is pressed under the projected line 28 of the punch 25 to form a groove 40. Since pulling of a surface in the periphery of the standing wall 24k is prevented in the case of folding the the standing wall 24k when folding the standing wall 24k, there is little fear of deforming the upper surface 42 and the lower surface 43 of the lower shell 24.
