PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a format of an information recorder in which a large burst error, if occurs, in the scanning direction of a magnetic heading device is corrected with relatively small redundancy. SOLUTION: A packet in which data is packed by a predetermined unit is constituted, the packet is recorded in M tracks (M is an integer of 2 or above), the packet is divided into N (N is an integer of 2 or above, N≤M) to form sectors having product codes, each sector has L inner code blocks, and the inner code blocks constituting the sector are roughly uniformly distributed to the tracks. When L/M is not an integer, N, M and L are set so that (N*L)/M becomes a natural number. Thus, since the (N*M) inner code blocks are roughly uniformly distributed to the M tracks, a strong error correction capability is provided with respect to burst errors in the tracks.
