PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coloring matter for eye lens capable of using without eluting, and to provide a lens for eye using the coloring matter. SOLUTION: The coloring matter for eye lens is represented in the formula, wherein A and B are selected from among halogen, cyano group, nitro group, alkyl group, alkylsulfonyl group, and alkoxy group, and R is a straight chain or branched chain of 1-5 C, Z is selected from among (meth)acrylic group, vinyl group, allyl group and a group of chemical constitution having these polymerizable groups. Thereby, even if the coloring matter for eye lens is used for eye lens such as a bendable contact lens or intraocular lens, the lens can be used, without its eluting from the colored eye lens.
