PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sidewall unit for a waterway simple in structure, easily built up to improve work efficiency, reduced in volume when transported to improve transport efficiency and maintaining excellent flow without any projection to obstruct water flow when used buried in earth. SOLUTION: This sidewall unit for the waterway comprises a plurality of sleeper members 1 laid in parallel, a pair of parallel earth retaining walls 11, 11 erected by piling a plurality of timbers 2a, 2b horizontally on both sides of the upper faces of the plurality of sleeper members 1 to intersect each sleeper member 1; fixing bolts 8 vertically spitting the respective timbers 2 of the respective earth retaining walls 11 and the sleeper members 1; and nuts 9 screwed with the fixing bolts 8 to integrally fix the respective timbers 2 and the sleeper members 1. In the loosened state of the nuts 9, the other earth retaining wall 11b moves in a freely approaching/separating manner relative to one earth retaining wall 11a through the plurality of sleeper members 1.
