PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a building ventilation system capable of enhancing the effect of ventilation by sufficiently enlarging an effective opening area. SOLUTION: A body 11 is provided on a roof 1 of a building. The body 11 has a lower opening 16 of the roof, an upper opening 17 of the roof and a side opening 18 connected to each other. The lower opening 16 of the roof is provided downward of the roof 1, the upper opening 17 of the roof is provided upward of the roof 1, and the side opening 18 is formed upward of the roof 1 and downward of the upper opening 17 of the roof. The body 11 has a projection 20 to the outdoor side on the upper side of the side opening 18. The lower side of the side opening 18 has a guide 21 projected to the inside and inclined to the side of the upper opening 17 of the roof. A water receiving section 23 is provided downward of the body 11. A shutter and a water detection sensor are also provided downward thereof. The shutter provides the upper opening 17 of the roof in an openable manner by power to close it in accordance with a closing signal.
