A method for writing data onto an optical storage medium using an optical storage device. The method includes the following steps: providing an EFM waveform that contains a previous land, a current pit, and a next land to the optical storage device; choosing a set of write strategy parameters from a plurality of sets of write strategy parameters stored in a memory according to lengths of the previous land, the current pit, and the next land; generating a write period waveform according to the chosen set of write strategy parameters; and driving a pickup with the write period waveform, so as to write data onto the optical storage medium.
