A sub-floor surface central heating system has a heat pipe resting in a socket fixture (5). The fixture rests on top of a first thick insulation layer (4) which in turn rests on a second sound and moisture barrier layer (3). The socket fixture is secured on the first insulation layer by a helical wire locating pin with a central pointed guide pin with hand-hold loop.
