PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric heater provided with improved design. SOLUTION: In a novel structural principle of the electric heater, a frame and a function of an elastic means are mutually divided. The housing comprising two half shells is used as the frame of the electric heater. A positioning assisting tool of a PTC heating element is arranged in the housing. A longitudinal side part of the housing is substantially opened for allowing passage of air passing a heating register. The elastic means is inserted in the housing, and it compresses a layer structure of a radiator element, the PTC heating element, and a contact sheet. After the heater is assembled, the elastic means can be inserted through a lateral opening in the heater. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
