PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply and uniformly apply pressure in a method of sintering metal powder or metal-coated powder. SOLUTION: The metal sintered compact is produced by charging a metal body 1 obtained by compacting metal or metal-coated powder inside a vessel 3 whose both ends are opened, filling powder or fluid consisting of heat resistant, hard non-conductors 7 into the side faces of the metal body 1 , and performed heating while pressure is applied, and carrying out sintering.
