PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing anω-iodofluoroalkyl vinyl ether from easily available raw materials in an industrially advantageous manner in good yields. SOLUTION: The method for producing theω-iodofluoroalkyl vinyl ether represented by the formula: ICFXCFYOCF=CF<SB>2</SB>(wherein X and Y are as defined below) comprises reacting a trifluoropyruvic ester represented by the formula: CF<SB>3</SB>COCOOR (wherein R is an aliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbon group optionally substituted with a halogen atom or halogen atoms) with an iodine compound and a halogenated fluoroethylene represented by the formula: CFX=CFY (wherein X and Y, which may be the same or different from each other, are each F, Cl, or Br) in the presence of an alkali metal fluoride to form anω-iodofluoroester represented by the formula: ICFXCFYOCF(CF<SB>3</SB>)COOR (wherein R, X, and Y are as defined above) and decarbonating the obtainedω-iodofluoroester.
