PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an emulsified composition suitable as a skin care preparation using neither synthetic polymer nor surfactant. SOLUTION: The emulsified composition contains preferably 1-5 wt.% of (1) an alginic acid polyhydric alcohol ester( preferably e.g. alginic acid propylene glycol ester ) and preferably 0.05-5 wt.%, based on sodium alginate, of (2) alginic acid and/or a salt thereof( preferably e.g. calcium alginate ).
