PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stem and leaf-treating machine having a compacted size in the right and left direction, hardly hindered by the untreated stems and leaves at the neighboring ridges, hardly hindering pulling out by a transmission case for transmitting a power to a pulling-out roll, and hardly causing winding around of the stems and leaves. SOLUTION: This stem and leaf-treating machine pulls out the stems and leaves S by nipping the stems and leaves S of a crop P between right and left pair of pulling-out rolls 62, and rotatably driving the right and left pulling-out rolls 62 from the lower side to the upper side at the facing sides. The stem and leaf-treating machine has the transmission case 36 stood on the rear side of the right and left pulling-out rolls, and the right and left pulling-out rolls 62 supported by the lower part of the transmission case 36 so as to be freely rotatable, and is constituted so that the rotational power is inputted to the upper part of the transmission case 36 from the front side over the upper part of the right and left pulling-out rolls 62, and so that the input power may be transmitted to the pulling-out rolls 62 by the power transmitting structure 50 in the transmission case 62.
