PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a soft air-interlaced spun yarn, and to provide a soft woven or knitted fabric using the air-interlaced spun yarns. SOLUTION: The air-interlaced spun yarn is characterized by containing polyester fibers each having three to six protrusions on the outer circumference of the fiber cross section and having a modification degree of≥1.8 and a fineness of <2.5 dtex in an amount of <80mass.%. The air-interlaced spun yarn preferably contains fuzzes having a lengths of≥1mm in an amount of≥100 fuzzes per 10m of the yarn. The air-interlaced spun yarn preferably contains hollow fibers having a hollowness degree of≥8% and a fineness of≤2.2dtex. Further, a soft woven or knitted fabric is characterized by being composed of the air-interlaced spun yarns and having an anti-pilling property of the third grade or higher.
