PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tunnel type oven which is miniaturized and with which the structure of a conveyor is simplified and baking plates in the oven are favorably transported to bake food products. SOLUTION: A chain conveyor 3 transportation is laid on a horizontal plane in a form to make a U-turn in an oven body. A great number of the baking plates 4 are connected to the conveyor chains of the chain conveyor 3 for transportation. Food products on the baking plates are baked while moving the baking plates in an approach route and a return route including the U-turn in the oven body 1 in the horizontal state of the baking plates 4. A chain conveyor 5 for an approach route guide is arranged at the side part of the approach route in the chain conveyor 3 for transportation in the oven body 1 so that the baking plates are horizontally supported and moved along the approach route. A chain conveyor 6 for a return route guide is arranged at the side part of the return route in the chain conveyor 3 for transportation so that the baking plates are horizontally supported and moved along the return route.
