A process for producing an olefin copolymer, characterized by copolymerizing at least one olefin selected from the group consisting of ethylene and linear alpha-olefins, the vinyl compound (I) shown below, and the polyene (II) shown below. Vinyl compound (I): a vinyl compound represented by the structural formula CH2=CH-R, wherein the substituent R is a saturated hydrocarbon group and has a steric parameter Es of -1.64 or smaller and a steric parameter B1 of 1.53 or larger. Polyene (II): a compound having two or more ethylenic bonds and having at least one combination of two ethylenic bonds separated by at least three carbon atoms.
