摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a precise and high-speed image processor and method for removing an uneven positional slippage or a geometric distortion such as expansion/contraction in an inspection image without being influenced by an image quantity defect. <P>SOLUTION: A divided image formation part 21 forms divided images for each of a reference image and the inspection image which are to be mutually collated, a divided projection waveform formation part 22 forms a divided projection waveform from each divided image, and a projection waveform composition part 23 combines the divided projection waveforms to form a projection waveform. A characteristic quantity extraction part 12 extracts a characteristic quantity from the formed projection waveform. A characteristic quantity matching part 13 performs the matching of the characteristic quantity data of the reference image with the characteristic quantity data of the inspection image. A correction quantity calculation part 14 determines a correction quantity to the geometric distortion between the reference image and the inspection image to form a n-dimensional lookup table 15.
