<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus and image forming system capable of maintaining a power-saving state so as to sufficiently reduce power consumption wherein the image forming apparatus is not restarted by management information from a management information server apparatus when the image forming apparatus has entered the power-saving state and the power is interrupted in the image forming system which includes the management information server and the image forming apparatus interconnected by a network. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is provided with: a communication control section for receiving print data and a management information acquisition instruction from the outside; a data discrimination section for discriminating the print data and the management information acquisition instruction received by the communication control section to inform the communication control section about the result of discrimination; an image forming section for receiving the print data from the communication control section to print out the print data; and a power supply control section for applying interruption / restoration control to part or all of the power supplied to the image forming section and transmitting a notice about it to the communication control section. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
