<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide peripheral equipment and a peripheral equipment control program, allowing easy and accurate setting of an item of the peripheral equipment control program without receiving restriction from a connection form of the peripheral equipment. <P>SOLUTION: When a client 2 requires output of a code showing setting information of a printer, the setting information of the printer is read from a setting information preservation part 122, and a code generation part 16 generates the code from the setting information of the printer. The generated code is displayed on a display part 17, is stored in a storage part 18, or is printed onto a sheet by an image output part 19.
