PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering gear capable of correctly detecting the absolute rotating position of a steering wheel regardless of error factors and controlling a motor for assisting steering based on the absolute rotating position. SOLUTION: In the electric power steering gear 20, a reduction gear ratio of a ball screw mechanism 50 is set to make an arithmetic value r gained by a product of the reduction gear ratio and the number of counter electrodes of a motor resolver 44 a non-integer number having values after the decimal point. Accordingly, the values after the decimal point of the arithmetic value r do not become an integer number. Thereby, a value of a mechanical angleθTm of the steering wheel 21 gained by an electrical angleθT1 of a first resolver 35 and an electrical angleθT2 of a second resolver 37 can be made not to be the same in any rotational range unit (A=-2, -1, 0, 1) of a total of four rotations, which means two rotations for respective left/right sides, of the steering wheel 21.
