PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly reproduce a play list. SOLUTION: An editing device reads from the optical disk 1 of editing target segments SG2, SG3 whose substantial reading rate Rq is smaller than a reproduction rate Rp among editing target segments SG1 to SG4 before the reproduction output (dotted line Lp) of a editing target segment SG as indicated by a solid line Lr. That is, since a buffer memory prestores data whose amount prevent emptying thereof even when the editing target segment SG is read at the reproduction rate Rp, the continuity of play list reproduction is secured.
