PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roller unit which does not leave marks of a coil spring on the outer periphery of a fixing roller. SOLUTION: A stainless coil spring 62 (an example of wire in this invention) which is wound in a spiral is installed in a hollow part of a core metal 52. A metal plate 64 with good heat conductivity is brought into contact with both end parts 62a and 62b in the longitudinal direction of the coil spring 62. A fan 66 blowing air to the metal plate 64 is installed in the vicinity of the metal plate 64. By having the fan 66 driven, air is blown to the metal plate 64 and the metal plate 64 is cooled. Therefore, since when the coil spring 62 is heated, the heat is conducted to the metal plate 64, the coil spring 62 is also cooled. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
