POWER CONVERSION APPARATUS, CONTROL METHOD THEREFOR AND AIR CONDITIONING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power conversion apparatus which improves the accuracy of phase interruption discrimination without need for detecting the rotational speed of a rotating type driving motor, and also to provide an air conditioning apparatus equipped with the power conversion apparatus, and a control method for the power conversion apparatus. SOLUTION: This power conversion apparatus is equipped with a first AC-DC converter part 41 for converting AC voltage of a generator 38 driven by the rotating type driving motor into DC voltage. Further, the apparatus comprises: a DC voltage measuring instrument 54 for measuring output-side DC voltage of the first AC-DC converter 41 within a prescribed period set so as to be included in a constant-speed control period of the rotating type driving motor, where constant speed control is implemented so as to operate at a prescribed rotational speed; and a CPU56 for discriminating the presence of phase interruption on the basis of the measured results of the DC voltage measuring instrument 54.
