PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packing material of such a structure that a cushioning space is secured below the bottom face and legs are resistant to bending. SOLUTION: When a shock is applied to a packaging box 30, leading edge tongues 22ABf (22ADf) and 22CBf (22CDf) are first bent and deformed from base end tongues 22ABr (22ADr) and 22CBr (22CDr) at their borders (joints) before respective tongues 22AB (22AD) and 22CB (22CD) have their base ends bent and deformed. Thus, the tongues 22AB, 22AD, 22CB and 22CD are bend-deformable in multiple stages, whereby the shock applied to the bottom face 12A of the packing material 10 from the tongues 22AB, 22AD, 22CB and 22CD as the legs can be alleviated by their respective deformation.
