The present invention relates to a liquid crystal display, and in particular, to a small or medium liquid crystal display for minimizing power consumption. The small and medium liquid crystal displays specifically requires low power consumption, which depends mostly upon an operation frequency of a data enable signal DE. The frequency is usually set to be 60Hz, which is unnecessary for a still image rather than a motion image to yield power consumption. Accordingly, bits for controlling the operation frequency of the data enable signal DE are provided at a register and they are selected based on the types of images for minimizing power consumption. |
