<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalytic apparatus for cleaning exhaust gas, the flow resistance of which is made low, in which the component to be cleaned of the exhaust gas is reacted efficiently to reduce the amount of the component to be cleaned and the shape of a gap part can be kept stably and which can be manufactured efficiently. <P>SOLUTION: A roll-shaped catalytic body is used in this catalytic apparatus, which is manufactured by spirally winding a plain-woven netlike cloth-shaped catalyst on the surface of which a catalytic substance is deposited and a convex portion is formed by dimpling work. A gap can be formed between the adjacent layers of the wound cloth-shaped catalyst and the flow resistance of the catalytic body can be made low by forming the convex portion like this. The catalytic body can be manufactured efficiently since it is not necessary to manufacture the catalyst other than the cloth-shaped catalyst. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
