PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a widely applicable vacuum heat insulating material less limiting to shapes of applied objects.
SOLUTION: The vacuum heat insulating material 10 comprises a plurality of cores 11 of thickness 5 mm or less formed of glass fibers into approximately regular octagons, covered with a gas-barrier skin 12 and depressurized. The cores 11 are certainly spaced from one another in a reticular pattern so as to form a bending line in parallel to each side of the octagons in four vertical, lateral and 45°-oblique directions. The whole skin around the cores 11 is formed as a heat welded portion 13 so that the plurality of cores 11 are located in independent spaces. They have four-direction bending flexibility. By cutting the heat welded portion along the cores 11 while leaving its peripheries by 3 mm or so, the vacuum heat insulating material can be obtained in any shape with a large effective heat insulation area. Furthermore, with the cores 11 themselves formed in any shape, the vacuum heat insulating material is applicable in an extremely wide range for complicated shapes and through-holes.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
