<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to select a more accurate answer to a question in FAQ with respect to the malfunction of the peripheral equipment of a computer, and to enable a user side to take a countermeasure against a malfunction. <P>SOLUTION: For the malfunction of a printer 40 as the peripheral equipment of a computer 30 connected through the Internet 10 to a troubleshooting server 20, FAQ pictures stored in an FAQ database 26 so as to be associated with each other are display-outputted to a computer 30, and when predetermined answers are selected on the FAQ pictures, the computer 30 is made to download a check program 28 to be automatically activated when download is completed for making the printer 40 perform a predetermined check operation. Then, the FAQ pictures including questions associated with the results of the check operation and selectable answers are display-outputted to continue the FAQ. The FAQ can be continued by using the results of the predetermined check operation by the peripheral equipment, so that it is possible to select much more accurate answers from the FAQ. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
