<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elliptical polarizing board efficiently manufacturable while having a polarizing layer and a birefractive layer. <P>SOLUTION: This elliptical polarizing board 10 is composed by laminating the polarizing layer 13 converting incident natural light into linear polarized light, an optically rotary layer 12 rotating the linear polarized light converted by the polarizing layer 13, and the birefractive layer 11 converting the linear polarized light into elliptical polarized light. The birefractive layer 11 and polarizing layer 13 are arranged so that a phase lagging axis of the birefractive layer 11 is parallel to an absorption axis of the polarizing layer 13. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
