<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical compensation film, whose optical characteristic hardly changes with the lapse of time, and which is superior in the preservation characteristic in a roll state, a polarizer plate, whose yield is high, and which is superior in the viewing angle characteristic even in the case of a large screen, and a liquid crystal display device using the same. <P>SOLUTION: The optical compensation film, of which the in-plane retardation value (R<SB>0</SB>value) defined by general formula (1) is 20 to 70 nm and the retardation value (R<SB>t</SB>value) in the thickness direction defined by general formula (2) is 60 to 400 nm, consists of a cellulose ester film including an aliphatic polyhydric alcohol ester, where the general formula (1) is: R<SB>0</SB>= (nx-ny)×d, and the general formula (2) is: R<SB>t</SB>= ((nx+ny)/2-nz)×d. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
