PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a centrifugal compressor capable of preventing the efficiency from lowering by preventing leakage of liquid, stably operating with a simple control valve structure and control, increasing the operation range at a low flow rate side, and improving the efficiency at high flow rate side. SOLUTION: The centrifugal compressor 10 is provided with a guide vane unit 30 having a guide vane 32, which is slidably inserted in an annular guide hole 20 formed in a hub side passage wall 15, and can be projected and retreated to install with an operation mechanism 40. In the operation mechanism 40, a fluid chamber 41 at a back side of a guide hole 20 is partitioned into front and rear pneumatic chambers 41F and 41R with a diaphragm 42. A projected spring 43 is arranged at the fluid chamber 41R at the rear side. A negative source is connected to the pneumatic chamber 41R via a control valve.
