PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air filter which efficiently separates oil mist contained in gas. SOLUTION: A filter medium part 11 constituting a filter element 3 is composed of a first filter medium 9 wound onto the periphery of an inner tube 8 and a second filter medium 10 wound closely onto the peripheral surface of the first filter medium 9. By making the gas containing the oil mist pass through the filter medium part 11 from the inside surface toward the outside surface, the oil mist is caught by the first filter medium 9 to be flocculated into oil drops. The oil drops are made to grow by the second filter medium 10 to be separated from the gas, providing a filter high in oil mist separation efficiency. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
