PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately heat to a target temperature inside a space to be heated, while coping with a request to raise/lower the temperature of the heat medium to be supplied. SOLUTION: This heat medium supply type heater is provided with a switching means 4 for continuing/cutting supply of the heat medium by opening/closing a heat medium circulation passage 1, and a control means 5 for controlling operation of a heat source means 3 and the opening/closing operation of the switching means 4. The control means 5 is structured to carry out the opening/closing control by obtaining a target opening/closing ratio about opening time and closing time in response to a temperature difference between the real temperature and a target set temperature inside the space to be heated, and periodically repeating the opening/closing operation of the switching means 4 so that the opening/closing ratio in single cycle becomes the obtained target opening/closing ratio. The heat source means 3 is structured freely to select the temperature of the medium to be supplied to a heating terminal 2. The control means 5 is structured to obtain the target opening/closing ratio so that the target opening/closing ratio in the case of the same temperature difference becomes a different value in response to the temperature of the medium to be supplied when performing the opening/closing control.
