PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily join the side plates of a set chain to each other to easily install, in a short time, the set chain used, as a slip preventer, on the tire of a car in stoppage and to form the side plate joint part, after the joining, to be never disengaged from each other by external forces such as impact and vibration. SOLUTION: In the structure of the side plate joint part, a side chain on one side is formed in a pair of semi-circular side plates formed by dividing a ring shape into two parts, and a bar-like joint pin is projected at one end. A moving color covering the outer periphery and loosely fitted which is inserted into pin holes in the pair of side plates and overlapped with each other is positioned adjacent to the joint pin, and a stopper manufactured by forming a spring material in U-shape is positioned adjacent to the joint pin. Also, to prevent the suspending of the chain which obstructs installation by the contact of a holding device with a tire and axle metal during the installation of the chain, the structure of the holding device is so formed that the one ends of the flat parts of the holding device 9 formed by bending one end of a rectangular thin sheet at generally right angle and bending the tip thereof at obtuse angle and the holding device 10 formed by bending the tip of a thin sheet at obtuse angle are connected to each other through a plurality of hinges so that the tips thereof can be freely opened and closed.
