<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming system for carrying out image forming operation close to the order of reception of inputted print jobs, regardless of the maintenance status. <P>SOLUTION: When a printer 103a is undergoing maintenance, a document server 101 collects the unexecuted jobs of all the printers. The collected undistributed jobs are rescheduled so as to allow the other printers 103b, 103c to perform printing output in the order of reception. When maintenance is finished and the printer is to be restored, a manager depresses a maintenance finish button, and then, the printer 103a transmits to this effect to the document server 101. The document server 101 collects the unexecuted jobs at the time, in order to allocate the print jobs to the recovered printer 103a, so that rescheduling is carried out again, in the group of the printers 103 including the printer 103a. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
