<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain excellent transfer efficiency and to effectively reduce or prevent deterioration of an image by effectively reducing reverse transfer when a toner image is transferred. <P>SOLUTION: In this method, the toner image formed on a latent image carrier is transferred onto a transfer image carrier. In this method, the transfer is carried out while the relative speed ΔV between the latent image carrier 903B and transfer image carrier 9041 is controlled to vary fast positively and negatively about a reference travel speed V in an oscillatory shape while the reference travel speed VA of the latent image carrier 903B and the reference travel speed VB of the transfer image carrier 9041 are so related substantially that VA=VB=V. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
