<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage water heater capable of properly taking out a border layer between hot and cold water in a laterally long hot water storage tank. <P>SOLUTION: This heater is provided with a hot water storage tank 4 of a laterally long form to which a water inlet pipe 7 and a hot water outlet pipe 5 are connected to store hot water, and a heating means 2 to heat hot water in the hot water storage tank 4. Cold water is supplied from a lower part, and hot water is supplied from an upper part. One or a plurality of border layer takeout pipes 12 are provided at an upper part of the hot water storage tank 4. The border layer rising toward the upper part of the hot water storage tank as hot water is used is taken out by the border layer takeout pipe to be mixed with supply hot water at a mixing valve to be supplied. Continuous supply of low-temperature hot water is thus prevented to eliminate making a user feel out of order or unsecured. By using the border layer to be mixed with supply hot water to be supplied as hot water, low-temperature hot water can be effectively used, and consumption of high-temperature hot water can be reduced to improve output efficiency. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
