PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically transmit an electronic mail having data up to a predetermined size by keeping the mail of an excess sizes in a server. SOLUTION: In a mail server 6 a mail analysis unit 63 analyzes the received electronic mail and checks if the content of the mail exceeds a predetermined volume, for example, 1K or over. A mail preparation unit 64 retains the electronic mail as it is in a mail spool 601 and deletes the part exceeding 1K, preparing electronic mail with a description to that effect and hands over the prepared mail to a mail transmitting unit 62. The mail transmitting unit 62 transmits to a home PC 8 the electronic mail with description prepared by the mail preparation unit 64 to the effect that the part exceeding 1K has been deleted.
