PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens-driving device for an optical pickup which causes no step-out under a low temperature environment and brings out the ability of a driving source to the maximum under an ordinary temperature environment. SOLUTION: The lens-driving device for an optical pickup is provided with a lens 4 for an optical pickup which reads out information recorded to a disk 2, a driving mechanism 6 having a motor 9 which can change the relative position to the disk 2 of the lens 4 for an optical pickup by moving the lens 4 for an optical pickup, and a high speed movement control part 18 which can move the lens 4 for an optical pickup at a high speed compared with a usual moving speed at which the lens 4 is moved when information is read out. In the driving device 1 for an optical pickup which drives the driving mechanism 6 based on a preliminarily prepared speed profile, the high speed movement control part 18 selects an adequate speed profile from two or more kinds of different speed profiles in accordance with a temperature around the motor 9 and drives the driving mechanism 6 based on the profile thus selected, when the lens 4 for an optical pickup is moved by the high speed movement control part 18.
