PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stain releaser effective for both a hydrophilic fiber (e.g., cotton) and a hydrophobic fiber (e.g., polyester) and to provide a detergent composition containing the same. SOLUTION: There are provided a crosslinked product obtained by reacting a compound (e.g., triethanolamine) having 2 to 32 hydroxyl groups with a compound [e.g., (poly)ethylene glycol diglycidyl ether] having at least two functional groups reactive with a hydroxyl group; the stain releaser comprising the crosslinked product; and the detergent composition containing the stain releaser.
