PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for grinding a circular cross section thin wall member for grinding the circular cross section thin member with high circularity by improving machining efficiency as much as possible by a simple mechanism and suppressing lowering of circularity due to deformation of a workpiece made of the circular cross section thin member. SOLUTION: A possible narrowest width part (narrow ground part)5 on an outer peripheral surface of the workpiece made of the circular cross section thin member 2 is ground by a grinding tool 6. By supporting the narrow ground part 5 by workpiece supporting means 3 and 4, a remaining part of an axial width on the outer peripheral surface of the workpiece 2 is ground by the grinding tool 6 by making the narrow ground part 5 as a reference surface. Subsequently, the axial narrow ground part 5 on the outer peripheral surface of the workpiece 2 ground first and the remaining part are ground together by the grinding tool 6.
