<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recording apparatus, by which a user can easily and selectively show a candidate among candidates of means for avoiding errors by a consistent operation through definitely showing the candidates of means for avoiding a specific error corresponding to the content of the error. <P>SOLUTION: An image recording apparatus 103 records an image based on the printing data supplied from a data processing apparatus 101. A specific error caused during the recording process of the printing data is detected. A CPU 309 sorts out an avoiding means, which can avoid the error, from among a plurality of avoiding means according to the detected specific error.
