PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink-jet printer in which each of recording heads and ink tanks is loaded on a carriage, and a weight balance of the carriage can be kept constant. SOLUTION: In the ink-jet printer, the carriage 6 where the recording heads 7-10 for discharging ink and sub tanks 13-16 for storing the ink are loaded moves in a state while guided/supported by a guide member 5 which extends in a right and left direction. In such a carriage mechanism, the carriage 6 is supported at the guide member 5 in a state to be astride the guide member in a front and rear direction. The recording heads 7-10 are loaded at one side of the carriage 6 astride the guide member 5, and the sub tanks 13-16 are loaded at the other side opposite to the side.
