PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering column device capable of operating each of clamp/unclamp mechanisms of a telescopic mechanism and a tilting mechanism by a single lever devised free to select which of the clamp/unclamp mechanisms to unclamp and to minimize operating power. SOLUTION: When the operating lever 7 is pressed to the front of a car body for tilt adjustment, a lock plate working pin 707 provided on it makes contact with an end part of a circular arc hole 81 of a tilt lock plate 8 and presses it. Only clamping of a tilt head is released as a projected part 71 of the tilt lock plate 8 oscillates to the right. When the operating lever 7 is pulled to the side of an operator, a puller plate 83 provided on the operating lever 7 pulls a puller collar 745 and oscillates a column clamp shaft 6, and accordingly only column clamping 21 for clamping of a movable column member 3 is released.
