PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carrier for electrostatic latent image development having excellent rising property of electrification, fast generating a charge amount even for a small amount of a developer, showing no change in charges by temperature or humidity and excellent durability of a coating film, and durable for long-term use. SOLUTION: The carrier for electrostatic latent image development consists of magnetic spheric fine powder and a coating film on the particle surface. The coating film is made of a condensed product of a mixture of a silicone resin having a silanol group and an alkoxyalkylated polyamide. The durability of the carrier coating is obtained and the carrier durable for long-term use is obtained by forming the coating film containing a metal oxide as a reinforcing agent of the film.
