PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately cope with a structure change in the optimum design method. SOLUTION: This method is equipped with a first solution process for solving an optimization problem of a first evaluation function to a state variable vector by using a design variable vector as a parameter, and a second solution process for solving an optimization problem of a second evaluation function to the determined state variable vector and the design variable vector. The second solution process is equipped with a process (S103) for calculating a gradient vector of the second evaluation function on a design vector, a process (S106) for calculating the first coefficient based on the value of a norm of the gradient vector, a process (S107) for calculating a search vector based on the first coefficient, a process (S109) for calculating the second coefficient, and a process (S110) for updating the design variable vector based on the second coefficient. The second coefficient calculation process includes the first solution process, and the first solution process is a repeated solution based on the gradient vector, and does not initialize the state variable vector during repetition.
