PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting device which enables the setting of a threshold based on the evaluation considering the metamerism of the observer without requiring extra cost and time. SOLUTION: An LCD projector 11 projects an image composed of the pixels made up of a plurality of component fluxes having different spectral intensity distributions onto a sample surface 1 and a control part 41 controls the intensity of each of the component fluxes of the LCD projector 11 so that the actual observers are given three stimulation values the same as those obtained when the standard observer observes the sample surface 1 under the reference illumination light.
