PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measuring instrument for a particle size distribution capable of measuring the particle size distribution of particles certainly without applying load to hardware or the like even in such a case that the particles to be measured having different particle sizes in a sample are variously mixed and largely different in the ratios of the numbers of them. SOLUTION: In the measuring instrument 1 for the particle size distribution equipped with a light irradiation part 5 for irradiating the particles S to be measured dispersed in a cell with light, a plurality of detectors 3 for detecting the angle dispribution of the intensities of scattered lights generated when the particles S to be measured are irradiated with light and a signal processing part 4 for receiving respective scattered light intensity signals outputted from the detectors 3 to perform various processings, transmission elements 41 for transmitting the scattered light intensity signals outputted from the detectors 3 over predetermined response times are respectively provided to the signal processing part 4 and the response times of the transmission elements 41 are differentiated or the response times of a part of the transmission elements 41 are made different from those of the other ones.
